Don attended the University of Northern Colorado where he majored in art education, graduating with a Masters degree. It was here that he was first introduced to pottery, a love that has continued to dominate his creative career ever since. Don taught art in the Jefferson County Public Schools for 27 years until his retirement. Joan’s pottery career started shortly after Don’s ; Don claims that she is his best student!
Their stoneware pottery is the result of a dream that Joan had about the incorporation of Don’s watercolor skills on the pottery using glaze materials.
