In Celebration of Light and Color
Raised in West Germany, I grew up with a fascination for stained glass.
However, I feel a strong need to change the traditional art of stained glass to fit the openness of today's architecture.
My pieces draw the outside in, rather than shut it out. I blend nature with the contemporary style of homes by puting gentle, quaking apsens into angular designs. I like my pieces to be as airy and light as possible - to be like a painting in a window. To achieve this, my creations are somewhat revolutionary because I force them out of the traditional lead lines, creating open spaces, quaking leaves and three dimensions. The key ingredient in all my work is the choice of glass itself. I use the finest hand-blown glass and minimize cutting by allowing the inherent shadings and textures of the glass to dictate my design.
My goal is that my creation becomes a fragile delight in celebration of light and color in your window.
