Jennifer’s passion for clay began when she was seven years old. Her work continues to exhibit a child’s sense of joy and wonder. Part of her still believes that if she can truly capture the essence of her subject, it will come to life. In recent years she has placed her sculptured animals on antique toy vehicles, to enliven them even more. She likes to think of her sculptures as Fine Art Whimsy.
Jennifer works primarily in ceramics, though she has dabbled in bronze. Every sculpture is handmade and unique, each with its own personality. The work is fired to cone 5, which makes them outdoor safe (provided there are no small appendages). She has developed a technique of using different colored clay bodies in a single pieces so
