Macy Dorf

Bowls

With degrees both in theater and ceramics from Southern Illinois University, Macy continued his education at Ecole National D’Art Decortife in Limoges, France. Extensive exposure in both one-person and group exhibitions in both Europe and the United States highlight his resume as well as significant permanent collection acquisitions and awards. Macy creates highly functional stoneware that also serves to complement both eclectic and traditional decors.

The final firing of this stoneware piece took 12-14 hours to reach approx. 2400º. The glazes used do not contain lead. As a cooking vessel it is sensitive to abrupt or extreme temperature changes and should be at room temperature before baking or refrigerating. This piece will bake best when the temperature of the ware rises with the temperature of the oven. As a serving piece, preheat with warm-hot water before filling with hot foods. This pottery is dishwasher safe. Most stoneware can be used in the microwave oven. To test for microwave use, place the pottery piece in oven along with a separate cup of water (in a glass container); microwave on high for one minute. If the water is warm and the pot is relatively cool, the pottery piece is safe for microwave use.

DO NOT PLACE WARE ON DIRECT FLAME OR HEATING ELEMENT!
