Folk ware features figures drumming and dancing under the stars. The line combines ideas and motifs found on quilts and in the folk art throughout the world: drummers and dancers, houses, villages, trees, mountains, the sun, the moon, and the stars. Parading across and around the pieces, the symbols combine, creating visual stories celebrating everyday life.

Handmade of red earthenware, each piece is stenciled and painted with bright slips and under glazes, then finished with a dinnerware-safe transparent glaze. True to most low-fire earthenware, the glaze will “craze” over time, each piece developing an overall fine network of cracks within the glass. This is to be expected and appreciated for its additional effect of timeless beauty and in no way affects the durability, functionality, or lifetime of the pieces.
