Born in 1957 in London, England to a poet/professor father and a multi-talented mother, Miranda spent her first years growing up on London before going to a boarding school on the Kent coast. At age 16, with both parents now in the states, Miranda decided to attend college in California and received a degree in Biology. After a brief foray in to Medical technology, Miranda married and had two daughters. With vivid memories of her grandmother’s loom in the attic of a thatched cottage in Cambridge, motherhood brought on the need to be more creative, and Miranda took to weaving as a duck to water.

Having worked in a professional capacity for over a decade now, Miranda says she is only beginning to explore the versatility of technique, texture and color of fiber art and senses a long and vibrant life as a weaver and artist. She currently resides in Lakewood with her two daughters.
