Nancy Kuester's ceramic stoneware creations are made with a touch of whimsy and folk tradition. All of her pieces are fired to temperatures between 2250 and 2350 degrees F in a high-fire gas kiln with a reduction atmosphere. This allows the warm natural clay colors to emerge. Using a combination of glazes and raw clay to express a variety of textures, each piece is individually handmade, so that it has its own unique personality. Nancy began experimenting with ceramic sculptures and forms after studying traditional folk art and primitive art.
