My first love and forte is making old-fashioned wood toys of heirloom quality for children.

Born in Grand Junction, Colorado, Joe Aquila "Papa Joe" is currently a resident of Colorado Springs. His interest in woodworking began in fourth grade and has continued to grow along with his love of the medium and his extraordinary skill.

Papa Joe designs many wooden creations. Birdhouses, quality heirloom toys, bottle stoppers, and knitting needles. Exotic tropical hardwoods like Bocote, Cocobolo, Ebony, Kingwood, Rosewood, Pernambuco and Pink Ivory. His exquisite wooden toys have become valuable collector items.

Wooden toys by Papa Joe have won 1st and 2nd place ribbons along with a Best of Show.
