"I want the viewer to connect with the animal by seeing it - not just to look at it," she says. She works primarily with acrylic, as well as oil and ink.
Her imagination and knowledge, attention to detail and genuine appreciation of her subjects have made her work recognized and collected throughout the country. Her versatility has gained her inclusion in such exhibitions as "Birds in Art" at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum, "Arts for the Parks Top 100" with the National Park Academy of the Arts, as well as commissions from The Nature Company and National Wildlife Federation. Dimmick is included in three books and has illustrated one book. She is a member of The Society of Animal Artists and has won its Award of Excellence.
