The masks are constructed from raku clay, cut from patterns, formed, assembled, carved, and then kiln fired. Post firing - The masks are painted with acrylics. Finally the pieces are embellished with mixed media, which may include: metal sheet, wires, ethnic objects, decorative papers, metal leaf, and natural objects (branches, skeletal remains, etc.). The photo images are true representations of the beauty and artistry of each piece. No two masks are identical. Therefore each mask varies according to artistic evolution, interpretation and availability of mixed media objects and materials.
