The McKinnells have made tremendous contributions to modern ceramics. Their knowledge of technical aspects made them pioneers in the fields of glaze formulation and kiln design. Their enthusiasm for ceramic art together with their generosity and willingness to share their discoveries and information has made them beloved mentors and teachers of many aspiring potters and artists. The McKinnells have met and interacted with leading ceramic artists of their time and on into the twenty-first century. This video honors the McKinnells for a lifetime of passion and commitment to ceramics. What they have brought to Colorado artists as well as to the field of ceramics worldwide is truly immeasurable.
